About This Position
Description:
Maintain, repair, and rebuild hydraulic pumps, motors, hydrostatic transmissions, hydraulic power units, along with hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders of varying size and complexity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use basic hand tools, measuring instruments, and other specialized equipment to teardown, measure, evaluate, reassemble and test hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, valves, pumps, motors, hydrostatic transmissions, and hydraulic power units of varying size and complexity.
- Assess reason for mechanical failure; make recommended changes, if any.
- Specify parts and time required to perform repair, document all findings and carry out repair.
- Must be able to determine tolerances and metric-to-standard dimension conversions.
- Must have the flexibility to stay on task and on time with projected delivery dates.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining various shop equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical Aptitude a plus.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and other specialized tools and equipment as required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Current driver's license. Ability to become forklift certified.
- Overtime is mandatory. Must have the ability to be on call. Must be able to work overtime with little or no notice.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Related experience and/or training are strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
