About the role
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and oversight of all student transportation services at the St. Louis Job Corps Center. This position ensures safe, efficient, and compliant transportation for student appointments, job interviews, recreational activities, and other off-center needs. The Transportation Coordinator supervises drivers, manages vehicle usage, ensures compliance with PRH and GSA requirements, and maintains all transportation-related documentation, inspections, and reporting.
What you'll do
• Schedule and coordinate all student transportation requests
• Assign drivers and vehicles based on availability and priority
• Coordinate transportation for medical appointments, job interviews, and recreational trips
• Communicate with departments to ensure efficient trip planning and execution
• Supervise and support drivers in daily operations
• Ensure drivers follow all safety procedures and traffic laws
• Monitor driver performance and provide guidance as needed
• Ensure proper use and security of vehicle keys and equipment
• Ensure all vehicles are inspected regularly for safety and operational readiness
• Track and monitor vehicle mileage, usage, and condition
• Ensure GSA vehicle inspections and requirements are completed
• Report and coordinate repair of mechanical issues with Facilities
• Maintain driver logs, trip reports, mileage records, and fuel receipts
• Ensure all transportation documentation is accurate and audit-ready
• Track fuel usage and ensure proper documentation of gas receipts
• Maintain records in accordance with PRH and organizational requirements
• Ensure all transportation activities comply with PRH, GSA, and traffic regulations
• Promote safe driving practices and enforce compliance with safety standards
• Identify and address transportation-related risks or concerns
• Support incident reporting and documentation when necessary
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness for use
• Assist with transportation planning for special events or high-volume needs
• Support maintenance or logistics functions when needed
• Operate in accordance with PRH, SOPs, and corporate policies
• Complete all required training
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency required; Associate’s degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in transportation, fleet coordination, or logistics
• Experience supervising staff preferred
• Knowledge of vehicle safety standards, inspections, and transportation compliance
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate logistics efficiently
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
The pay range for this role is:
22 - 26.13 USD per hour(St. Louis JCC Main)
