About This Position
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as a resource and is responsible for all supervisory functions for the entire staff of assigned Practices in the day-to-day operations of the practice sites.
Assures staff compliance with JMH Physician Network policies, procedures, and protocols and provides support to the Physician Network Administrator by assuring compliance by personnel at the practice site.
Functions as a liaison between employed providers, practice staff, billing, physician business office, General Accounting, and Administration regarding the assigned business units. Audits charge entry; coordinates with the physician billing staff to ensure the practices are complying with the governmental policies and procedures related to CPT/HCPCS coding, billing rules, and regulations as well as HIPAA confidentiality and security Compliance.
Under the direction of the Physician Network Administrator, oversees employee relations of the assigned clinic which include recruitment, scheduling, disciplinary action, and performance evaluation of department employees. Maintains employee personnel records, including ongoing training and coaching, and team building meetings. Approves employee PTO and bi-weekly payroll.
Assures adherence to cash handling internal controls for daily cash collections, working collaboratively with billing to keep outstanding A/R at or below established Practice target levels. Controls expenses of the designated clinic to maintain a positive contribution to margin to the bottom line of the organization by enforcing yearly budgets.
Counts, balances, and documents drawer activity daily. Reports any discrepancies and plan of action to Physician Network Administrator.
Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovations or quality of care.
Ensures Practice compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs, physical properties, and initiates appropriate changes as necessary with changing regulations.
Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, positive Practice atmosphere.
Ensures office space, supplies, and equipment are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care.
Maintains strict confidentiality of patient and business information.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health (JMH).
Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 5 years of medical office and/or health insurance experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. *If assigned Practices require travel between offices, current unrestricted Indiana Driver’s License, adequate personal automobile insurance, and reliable personal transportation will be required.
