MORES Family Partner — Mobile Crisis Services Catawba Valley Healthcare | Full-Time | Burke & Catawba Counties
Position Overview
Catawba Valley Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate MORES Family Partner to join our Mobile Crisis Response team. This position plays a vital role in delivering community-based crisis services focused on the prevention, intervention, and stabilization of crisis events related to mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) for children, adolescents and their families.
This position requires lived experience. We are seeking a candidate who has personally navigated the behavioral or mental health system as a caregiver for a child with behavioral or mental health challenges. Your journey uniquely qualifies you to offer empathetic, credible support to families in crisis, and to help them access resources, advocate for their children, and keep youth safely in the home during times of acute need.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct initial MORES screenings and develop person-centered treatment plans based on identified needs
Link clients to appropriate community resources and coordinate seamless transitions to the next level of service
Offer empathetic peer support, family advocacy, and system navigation grounded in personal lived experience
Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team serving Burke and Catawba counties
Deliver services in a variety of community and residential settings
Minimum Qualifications
Lived experience as a caregiver for a child with behavioral or mental health challenges — this is a core requirement of the position, not optional
High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
Family Partner certification, or willingness to complete required Family Partner training upon hire
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
Proficiency in basic computer applications and software relevant to job responsibilities
Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
Physical mobility sufficient to travel to and provide services across various community locations
Catawba Valley Healthcare is a 501(c)(3) comprehensive non-profit healthcare provider and is not affiliated with Catawba Valley Health Systems (CVHS), also located in Hickory.
