About the Role:

The Experienced Line Cook at The Place at Corkscrew plays a critical role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences to our guests by preparing and cooking menu items efficiently and consistently. This position requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. The line cook will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet our established standards for taste, presentation, and portion control. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a clean and organized workstation, managing inventory of ingredients, and supporting the kitchen team to meet service demands. Ultimately, the line cook contributes to the overall success of the restaurant by upholding our commitment to exceptional food quality and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working as a line cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately.
  • Capability to work standing for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment safely.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary school diploma or prior line cook experience in a full-service restaurant.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fine dining or upscale casual restaurant.
  • Certification in ServSafe or equivalent food safety credential.
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with a variety of cooking techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a diverse kitchen team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure timely and efficient food service during peak hours.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the kitchen manager to avoid shortages.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of ingredients.

  • Support training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff as needed.
