Position: Environmental Health & Safety Engineer
Location: Pearl River Plant - Pearl River, MS

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 PM - Work outside normal hours is to be expected, must be available outside normal hours as needed
The EH&S Engineer ensures compliance with all federal, state and local environmental and transportation regulations and is responsible for all aspects of the site environmental program and for implementation of internal environmental programs. This role will have safety responsibility as well as environmental
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Oversees safety and environmental compliance for the Pearl River facility including day-to-day operations, incoming spent carbons, air permit, wastewater discharge and stormwater requirementsResponsible for OSHA process safety management standardsParticipates in daily plant meetings, Inspects the plant daily, provides environmental training to employeesImplement Calgon Carbon Kuraray corporate safety and environmental requirementsPerforms daily site inspections, interacts with employees, contractors and management to assure day-to-day operational safetySupports an accident-free culturePerforms Behavioral Based Safety ObservationsPrepares all annual and periodic environmental reports for the Pearl River facility including but not limited to all SARA reporting, DMR, annual air permit certifications, deviation reports and others as requiredPrepares permit renewal applications and modifications for air water and waste permitsDevelop and implement environmental programs for the Pearl River facilityOther EH&S projects to Support the Pearl River facility or other Calgon Carbon location as assigned by the Director of EH&S
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (Environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry or other technical discipline is preferred, or equivalent years of work experience)5-7 years of Environmental Management experience is requiredRegulatory and permitting experience is preferred
