About This Position
Description:
Oversee daily manufacturing operations, coordinating staff and workflows to meet production
schedules, quality standards, and safety goals. Act as a bridge between management and floor staff, training employees, troubleshooting equipment, and driving process improvements (e.g., Lean, 5S).
Key Responsibilities
- Production Coordination: Scheduling, prioritizing, and overseeing daily production activities to meet deadlines.
- Leadership & Training: Mentoring staff, assigning tasks, training new hires on SOPs, and coaching new hires.
- Quality & Safety Control: Monitoring products to ensure quality specifications are met, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring a safe, organized workspace.
- Equipment & Processes: Coordinating equipment setup, conducting troubleshooting, and implementing process improvements.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintaining inventory, documenting daily production logs, and reporting performance metrics to management.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and quickly resolve production issues.
Skills and Qualifications
- Leadership: Strong ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work culture.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment operations, and
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Organization: Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 2–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Software Proficiency: Basic to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/inventory systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Capability to lift and move objects typically ranging from 25 to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity and vision abilities to inspect products for small defects.
- Ability to work in cold (34 F – 40 F) environment.
