Responsibilities

While RS&H was founded in 1941, we have been providing construction management services as one of our primary business practices since 1984. RS&H’s Transportation-Construction Management Practice serves numerous state departments of transportation, mobility/transportation authorities, turnpike/toll authorities, rail/port authorities, municipal/county governments, and private clients throughout the United States. Our Construction Engineering and Inspections (CEI) teams as well as our Construction Management teams are industry leading experts who provide a full range of construction engineering, program management, specialized testing, and inspection services from the preconstruction phase through maintenance and operations. Qualifications

RS&H is currently seeking an experienced project engineer to join our team across Colorado. This position will work outside on an active construction site. As part of the construction management team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by acting as an owner’s representative for inspection and contract administration during the construction of large-scale projects. This position will manage the consultant contract, including responsibility for accounts receivable, subconsultant management, and client management interface; plan and organize the work of others, which may include managing a small team of direct reports; verify and ensure construction activities are performed in compliance with contract documentation; direct construction engineering administration and inspection programs; draft all owner’s-side project correspondence; review claims, change orders, and requests for time extensions; participate in the marketing and development of new contract opportunities and pursuits; and develop and/or reviews policies, methods, practices, and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Be a professional engineer (PE) in good standing.
  • Have experience in construction of major road or bridge structures and proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner.
  • Have a valid driver's license, be insurable, and be able to safely operate a vehicle on the highway and on construction sites.
  • Have a passion for working outside and a tolerance for exposure to the elements.
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills and have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as Owner’s Representative on large-scale transportation or infrastructure projects.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience within construction engineering and inspection environments.

Hiring Salary Range: ($115,375 - $190,336) — for this location. The final agreed upon compensation is commensurate with experience relative to the position and/or primary work location.
