Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at White Sands Treatment Center of Tampa LLC – Plant City, Florida

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide PRN coverage in a licensed detox facility. The APRN will play a critical role in the assessment, medical management, and stabilization of individuals undergoing withdrawal from alcohol and/or substances, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage withdrawal syndromes following established detox protocols
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice, including withdrawal management medications, as appropriate
• Provide medical oversight for patients with co-occurring medical or psychiatric conditions
• Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, behavioral health clinicians, and support staff
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Maintain compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and accreditation standards
• Examine patients and their medical records
• Diagnosing health conditions and illnesses
• Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
• Oversee patients’ overall health
• Promote good health practices
• Advance professional knowledge and conduct research
• Perform medical assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients admitted for detoxification
• Participate in on-call coverage or after-hours consults when scheduled (if applicable)

• Valid Florida APRN license in good standing
• Master’s degree or higher; PhD is a plus
• National APRN certification
• Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
• Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in a clinic, hospital, ER or psychiatric setting
• Experience in outpatient, primary care, or relevant specialty
• Knowledge in psychiatric/addiction medicine
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
• Excellent communication skills

• Strong clinical assessment, and time-management skills
• Team spirit with a positive attitude
• Fast paced, team oriented clinical setting
• Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience

Pay

• $85.00/hourly
