Job Description
MasterMold is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Supply Chain Analyst / Buyer to support our manufacturing and new-business sourcing needs. This is a full-time, onsite position and is not eligible for remote work. This position is ideal for someone who understands the complexities of purchasing within a manufacturing environment and can effectively coordinate materials, suppliers, technical requirements, and production priorities.
As a member of the Purchasing team, this position will work closely with Production, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and external suppliers to ensure raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, and production supplies are available when needed. The role will also support the Engineering team with supplier identification, quoting, and sourcing for new products and customer opportunities.
The successful candidate will be organized, technically capable, and comfortable identifying potential supply issues before they affect production. Candidates with experience reading engineering drawings, reviewing specifications, or working with CAD files are strongly preferred.
ResponsibilitiesPurchase raw materials, components, production supplies, tooling, equipment, and other materials required to support manufacturing operations
Review purchase requirements, specifications, engineering drawings, and related technical documentation
Support Engineering with supplier identification, requests for quotation, cost analysis, and sourcing for new products and customer opportunities
Work with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other departments to understand material requirements and purchasing priorities
Monitor inventory levels, material usage, lead times, and production demand
Follow up on open purchase orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules
Identify and communicate supply risks, shortages, pricing changes, quality concerns, and delivery delays that could affect production
Work with suppliers to resolve material, delivery, pricing, and quality issues
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on cost, quality, lead time, technical capability, and capacity
Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, inventory, pricing, and item records within the company’s ERP system
Assist with supplier performance reviews, audits, and continuous-improvement activities
Help develop alternative sources for critical or difficult-to-source materials and components
Support cost-reduction, inventory-control, and supply-chain improvement initiatives
Experience in manufacturing purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials planning, inventory control, or a related field
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, bills of materials, or other technical documentation
Experience with CAD files or CAD software is preferred
Understanding of manufacturing processes, material requirements, supplier lead times, and production scheduling
Experience requesting and comparing supplier quotations
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing production requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Experience using an ERP, MRP, purchasing, accounting, or inventory-management system
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Experience sourcing tooling, fabricated components, molded components, or engineered materials is a plus
Ability to work onsite during the position’s regularly scheduled hours
This position is performed onsite and is not a remote or hybrid position
Primarily office-based, with regular time spent in the warehouse and manufacturing areas
Travel between MasterMold’s Johnson Creek and Mauston facilities as needed
Occasional travel to supplier locations for visits, sourcing activities, or audits may be required
