About This Position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Reports to Director of Satellites. Must be reliable, flexible and have a thorough knowledge of the community, organizations and service agencies.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in marketing efforts to specific communities.
  2. Promotes services rendered by Southside Medical Center to Hispanic and other populations within the target area.
  3. Provides community education at schools, churches, community centers, etc.
  4. Make regular telephone contact with various organization to set up meetings.
  5. Distributes information (flyers, brochures, etc.) on services of center and its satellites.
  6. Self motivated.
  7. Above average enthusiasm for community-based work.
  8. Periodically delivers presentations to community and business leaders.
  9. Supervise outreach worker(s).
  10. Other related duties as assigned.

  1. Familiar and comfortable working in diverse communities.
  2. Communicates competently with various cultural and socio-economic groups.
  3. Sensitive to the needs of the client.
  4. Exhibits leadership and management ability.
  5. Ability to establish a relationship between Southside and community.
  6. Ability to establish a network.
  7. Professional and business like appearance and work habits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalency. A minimum of two years documented community based work. Liaison between Southside and community. Flexible to work uneven hours, days. A history of successful community involvement and activities either paid or volunteered. Must have access to transportation and current Georgia Driver’s License. Must be bilingual.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires some sitting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, calculator, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment as needed. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. May require irregular hours and ability to work under pressure in meeting deadlines.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment, with occasional evening or weekend work.
