Material Expeditor

Job Summary

The Material Expeditor will organize and coordinate materials for loadout, ensure all materials are accounted for and documented, and maintain tools/equipment needed for land/offshore crews at ready status. The Shipping Department is ultimately responsible for the accuracy and completeness of loadouts in accordance with supplied shipping documents as well as their level of productivity. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Complete and discuss a thorough JSEA prior to each task.
  • Upon receipt of shipping manifest from Dispatcher:
  • Locate material to be shipped
  • Flag/mark equipment for shipment
  • Sack any loose items as required and mark with job/location information for shipment
  • Stage materials for loadout to avoid delays in scheduled loadouts
  • Identify/circle all materials to be loaded out on shipping manifest then sign copy of manifest
  • Turn in identified/reconciled shipping list copy to Material Expediting Manager for review.
  • Maintain and keep a par level of tools/supplies in ACI tool houses, safety boxes and rigging boxes upon return from job.
  • On return from job, note any equipment losses/shortages to Project Manager and Field Services Division Manager
  • Check sling certs on all equipment and notify Field Services Division Manager when certs need update.
  • When requested, assist in locating and flagging material required for paint transfers.
  • Check and refill bottle racks upon return from offshore and land jobs. Turn in quantities/descriptions of used bottles to Project Manager and Field Services Division Manager for job cost allocation.
  • Make sure rental equipment is tested and ready to be put in service. Fill out proper documentation and turn in to equipment coordinator.
  • Ensure no materials with open holes are shipped; i.e., spool, pipe, flanges, open ended randoms.
  • Coordinate with Project Coordinator to ensure proper QC sign off on all fabricated items prior to load out.
  • Coordinate equipment operator needs with yard foreman.
  • Always have a positive attitude towards customers being serviced as well as ACI as a company.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year or more related experience, preferably in material identification, allocation, and/or tracking.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Work efficiently and productively throughout workday.
  • Report to work on-time and as scheduled.
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.
  • Be proactive, organized and handle work under stressful and uncertain environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
