Position Overview
CEHAS Plan Administrators, LLC is seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to prepare the organization’s accounting operations and financial reporting processes. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the timely preparation of financial statements and reporting.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented financial professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable working with a small team while maintaining strong financial controls and operational efficiency.
This position plays a critical role in supporting financial transparency, budgeting, and the ongoing improvement of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Manage and/or record daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain the company’s general ledger and oversee all accounting activities.
- Ensure proper classification and reconciliation of accounts.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct analytical review of financial results and identify trends or variances.
- Support leadership with financial reporting and operational insights.
Monthly Close Process
- Design, implement, and manage the monthly close process.
- Ensure timely completion of reconciliations and financial reporting.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist with preparation of the annual company budget.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and support variance analysis.
Systems & Process Management
- Actively manage accounting processes within QuickBooks Online.
- Utilize electronic transaction imports and integrated financial interfaces to streamline operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
Collaboration
- Work closely with leadership and internal departments to support financial operations.
- Operate effectively within a small finance team, providing both strategic and operational support.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Experience working in a hands-on accounting environment
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Experience working with QuickBooks Online
- Experience managing electronic transaction imports and financial system integrations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing financial statements and conducting analytical review
- Experience designing or improving monthly close processes
- Experience with budget preparation
