CLASSIFICATION: Buyer I

GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time

LOCATION: Bldg. 955 Business Office, Eglin AFB, FL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This role is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of a wide variety of parts, materials, and specialized services essential for company operations, ensuring strict adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. Manage the acquisition life-cycle, and ensure that all actions are fair, transparent, and represent the best value to the government. Maintain contract files in compliance with FAR requirements. Perform post-award contract administration duties, including monitor contractor performance, process modifications, approve payments and execute contract closeout procedures.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Accurately outline terms, conditions, delivery schedules and pricing in purchase orders.
  • Research and source new vendors, where required, to ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Perform contract administration and modifications, where necessary, and assess changes and risks to determine the best overall resolution by collaborating with suppliers and technical personnel.
  • Analyze data to determine the lowest possible cost, factoring quality and reliability and negotiate favorable contracts with the knowledge gleaned.
  • Work with purchasing assistants to expedite open purchase orders and communicate status' to field personnel as well as internal company departments.
  • Initiate change orders when required.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure purchase order pricing and terms are met.
  • Collaborate with Logistics personnel to ensure materials are delivery accurately and without discrepancies.
  • Accomplish assigned training, when required.
  • Support the development and continual improvement of purchasing policies and procedures consistent with the contract, FAR and internal company policies.


Job Requirements:

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two-four years in federal government contracting or procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and (DFARS).
  • Demonstrated supplier management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Costpoint experience is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to use independent judgment to make decisions.
  • Must be a self-starter that can multi-task.
  • Requires a high level of professionalism and work ethics.
  • CAC holder would be beneficial.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI). Supports E-OMS operational objectives. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security, and administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area in an office setting on Eglin AFB, FL.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials and require very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods.
