This role is responsible for building and leading a comprehensive AI governance program while embedding automation and analytics across enterprise security operations. The Director will oversee AI agent management, shadow AI containment, compliance frameworks, and security automation pipelines, ensuring AI systems are secure, auditable, and aligned with regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Legal, and AI/ML teams to embed governance controls into AI development and deployment. The role includes designing risk assessment models, operationalizing AI security metrics, and guiding cross-functional teams to mitigate threats associated with AI adoption. This position provides visibility at the executive and board level, with the opportunity to influence AI governance strategy at scale. Success in this role directly enhances enterprise risk posture, compliance readiness, and operational efficiency.
- Lead the creation and operation of a centralized AI agent registry, managing every AI-powered workflow, bot, and autonomous agent in the enterprise
- Detect, classify, and govern unauthorized or shadow AI deployments, establishing proactive monitoring and real-time alerting
- Enforce agent identity governance, including least-privilege access, credential rotation, and lifecycle management, in collaboration with identity teams
- Develop incident response playbooks for AI-induced security events and ensure deployment gates for AI agents are met
- Own enterprise AI governance frameworks, including policy development, risk classification, AI impact assessments, and cross-functional governance council leadership
- Architect AI-driven security automation and analytics pipelines to improve alert triage, threat detection, and efficiency metrics
- Partner with Engineering, Product Security, Legal, and Privacy to integrate governance and compliance into AI development, training, and deployment
- Build, mentor, and scale a team of AI governance and security automation specialists, establishing metrics and dashboards for executive reporting
Requirements:
- 8+ years in security, including 3+ years in leadership roles focused on AI/ML security, security automation, or analytics
- Deep understanding of AI/ML architectures: LLMs, transformers, fine-tuning pipelines, RAG systems, and embeddings, with knowledge of associated attack surfaces
- Hands-on experience building or leading security automation programs (SOAR playbooks, automated detection pipelines, alert triage)
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act risk classification)
- Experience managing non-human identities at scale, including service accounts, API keys, OAuth tokens, and AI agent credentials
- Proven ability to operationalize security tooling across cloud security stacks (CSPM, EDR, SIEM/SOAR, DLP, identity)
- Strong analytic skills, able to translate AI/cyber risk into financial impact and executive-level metrics
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration, influencing teams across Engineering, Product, Legal, and AI/ML in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in analytics, SQL, Python, or BI tools for extracting insights from security telemetry
