About This Position
The Regional Service Director will have responsibility for providing leadership to a geographic network or branches within a region. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that branches deliver outstanding customer service and achieve growth and profitability objectives. The Regional Service Director has a strategic focus of delivering operational excellence and supporting the sales efforts of the company and leading the hiring and development of outstanding branch talent.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all branches within the sub-region meet or exceed established financial and operational goals.
- Lead efforts to drive outstanding customer service and operational excellence.
- Assess and attract superior talent with a focus on continuous people development and recruiting.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to branch leadership and continuously develop outstanding talent.
- Implement a world-class safety culture which ensures associate responsibility and accountability.
- Drive the execution of the strategic plan within the sub-region partnering with supply chain, pricing and other functions.
- Drive a culture of accountability and the implementation of strategic actions for customer service and operational excellence.
- Ensure that we are effectively managing costs and continuously aligning our spending to business performance.
- Lead with data and analytics. Utilize our tools and reporting to drive well-supported decision-making.
- Create divisional budgets and recommend needed capex spending.
- Ensure the effective integration of new acquisitions and greenfield locations within the division.
- Effectively interface with senior leadership and ownership partners as required to report on plans and progress.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or the equivalent preferred
- 10 years of experience in industrial distribution with an emphasis on field and branch leadership.
- Experience driving customer service and operational excellence
- Demonstrated P&L leadership experience
- Experience leading, developing, and coaching leaders; demonstrated success at attracting outstanding talent.
- Demonstrated ability to lead work independently & cross functionally throughout an organization
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with other business leaders including Sales, Finance, Sourcing, Marketing, Pricing, Human Resources etc.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems positively and professionally
- Strong history of a customer-focused and commercial mindset and experience.
- Ability to interface at a senior and board level and to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
