Located in Collinsville, IL, this position is essential to our mission of delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance.Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions.Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used during repairs.Collaborate with service advisors to communicate findings and provide excellent customer service.Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while working on vehicles.Assist in training junior technicians as needed to enhance team skills.QualificationsProven experience as a vehicle technician or similar role in the automotive industry.Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, including ohmmeters, is preferred but not required.Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.A Specialist shall be able to perform the following operations or tasks providing they are properly trained:1) Normal vehicle maintenance and fluid exchanges including transmission and differential services, air filter replacements, spark plug and wire replacements, tire replacements, rotations, alignments, wiper blades.2) Al exterior and interior lens, bulbs, trim and switches.3)Alternator, belts, battery replacement and/or cable cleaning.4) All coolant hose replacements including R&R radiator and surge tank.5) All shocks, struts, sway bar links, mounts, hydraulic steering gears and hub bearings.6) Rattles, squeaks, aligning windows/ moldings for leads, wind noise and water leaks.7) Remove and replace wiper motor and transmission, washer pump and hose replacement.8) headlamp alignment and replacement.9) Exhaust R&R or replace, including gaskets and exhaust convertors.10) Hub bearing and/or hub bearing assembly replace.11) Exterior and Interior Mirror replacements.12) Pre- Deliver inspections and all work on internal used cars and trucks.13) Recalls and campaigns they are trained to perform.14) Front/ rear brake replacement caliper, rotor and drum turn or replace.Description of the role:The Ford Vehicle Service Technician at Jack Schmitt Ford is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on Ford vehicles.
