Job Title: Production Supervisor – Day Shift

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor coordinates day-to-day production operations, supervises production personnel, and implements process improvements to meet quality, delivery, and efficiency objectives. This role ensures workload planning, team development, and cross-functional collaboration while monitoring KPIs, enforcing policies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Production Coordination & Process Management

  • Plan and coordinate workload for assigned Production groups.
  • Execute the Production Master Plan and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Identify bottlenecks and guide teams to continuously improve processes.
  • Delegate assignments and monitor progress to meet unit goals.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse and Repair Center teams on production jobs.
  • Manage controllable operating expenditures, including scrap and consumables.

2. Team Supervision & Development

  • Assess and manage team time and workload; approve overtime and working hours.
  • Train new hires and cross-train existing employees; develop work instructions and conduct on-job training.
  • Perform headcount reviews, overtime analysis, and plan/manage temporary workforce.
  • Establish performance metrics; review employee performance and recommend compensation or disciplinary actions.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures within the team.
  • Participate in hiring decisions and maintain mandatory training records.

3. Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Develop, monitor, and document key production processes and tools (e.g., setup, wave solder, de-panel, rework, touch-up, product testing, box build assembly).
  • Create and maintain standardized templates for process documentation.
  • Provide input into annual production objectives and plans.
  • Update and maintain production databases, reports, and worksheets.

4. Cross-Functional Support

  • Analyze production issues and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Plan and execute corrective actions, evaluating and sharing results with stakeholders.
  • Represent the Production group in cross-functional planning and problem-solving.
  • Interpret customer requirements and internal guidelines to team members; support knowledge transfer.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of production supervisory experience in CM EMS industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SMT manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, line balancing, and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio; PLM knowledge a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
