About This Position
Job Title: Medical Assistant – Personal Injury Clinic
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) in a personal injury clinic plays a critical role in supporting providers in delivering high-quality care to patients recovering from injury. This position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, with a strong focus on documentation accuracy, patient flow, and coordination of care related to injury cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Prepare patients for examination, including obtaining vital signs and medical history related to injury
Assist providers during examinations and procedures
Perform basic clinical tasks such as blood draws, splinting, and assisting with injections (as permitted)
Ensure proper documentation of injuries, symptoms, and patient progress
Support TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and musculoskeletal evaluations as directed by provider as well as TBI testing.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms
Administrative Duties:
Accurately enter patient information, treatment plans, and provider notes into EMR system
Manage patient intake, including verifying policies and personal injury claim details
Coordinate referrals for imaging, physical therapy, vestibular rehab, and specialty care
Schedule follow-up appointments and track patient compliance with treatment plans
Handle medical records requests and ensure proper documentation for legal and insurance purposes
Assist with end-of-day reconciliation, including chart completion and documentation audits
Personal Injury-Specific Responsibilities:
Understand personal injury workflows, including attorney involvement and lien-based care
Ensure accurate and detailed documentation to support legal cases
Communicate effectively with case managers, attorneys, and case managers when necessary
Track authorizations, referrals, and treatment timelines for injury claims
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification completed
Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (personal injury or orthopedics preferred)
Familiarity with EMR systems and medical documentation standards
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and patient service skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with personal injury cases, workers’ compensation, or accident-related care
Knowledge of medical terminology related to orthopedic and neurological injuries
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is Mandatory
Work Environment:
Fast-paced clinic setting focused on injury recovery and rehabilitation
Frequent interaction with patients experiencing acute or chronic pain
Collaboration with providers, case managers, and administrative staff
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift/move patients as needed (up to 25–40 lbs with assistance)
Manual dexterity to perform clinical tasks
