Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) is a non-profit, non-sectarian agency and one of the largest providers of workforce development services in Greater Boston. Founded in 1938, JVS has a long history of helping individuals adapt to changing workforce needs and achieve economic stability through employment, training, and education. Today, our mission is to empower individuals from diverse communities to overcome barriers to employment and begin building meaningful careers, while partnering with employers to hire, train, and sustain productive workforces.

The Career Coach provides job-readiness training to individuals with disabilities, focusing on the foundational skills needed to obtain and maintain employment in the community. This includes delivering pre-employment and on-the-job training to participants through one-on-one coaching and small group instruction, including services provided through the Transitions to Work Program.

This program offers career seekers ages 16–35 hands-on internship opportunities with employer partners such as Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Brockton Hospital, and NewBridge on the Charles. The Career Coach prepares participants for these internships, provides ongoing support throughout the experience, and delivers individualized coaching to support job placement, retention, and career advancement. In addition, the Career Coach trains and advises employer partners on effective strategies for working with individuals with disabilities, develops strong job leads, and provides job placement assistance.

This role requires the ability to initiate and sustain collaborative relationships with businesses across the Greater Boston and Greater Brockton areas, a strong understanding of—or commitment to learning about—barriers to employment, and active participation as part of a larger JVS team supporting employment, training, and education services both in person and virtually.
