SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Test and Evaluation Technician I, II, III, IV.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking Test and Evaluation (T&E) Technicians at various levels to support the verification and validation of U.S. Navy navigation equipment. The Technician is responsible for maintaining specialized test equipment, conducting tests in strict accordance with approved test plans, and meticulously documenting all results. This role involves identifying system anomalies, generating Software/System Trouble Reports (STRs), and contributing to final test reports to ensure the operational readiness of critical naval systems.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Test Execution & Equipment Maintenance:
- Conduct formal testing of navigation systems and components in accordance with (IAW) approved test plans and procedures.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot test equipment, including data loggers, signal generators, and specialized maritime simulation tools.
- Set up test configurations, ensuring hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and environmental test setups are secure and functional.
- Monitor system performance during testing cycles and identify deviations from expected behavior.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Document all test results with high precision to ensure data integrity for final analysis.
- Identify system failures and generate Software/System Trouble Reports (STRs) with detailed steps to reproduce the issue.
- Assist engineering staff in the compilation of data for formal Test Reports (TR).
- Maintain organized logs of equipment maintenance and laboratory configurations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician I – II High School Diploma/GED/ Vocational School Diploma.
Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician III- IV Technical School Diploma.
Experience:
Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician I - No requirement for prior professional service.
Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician II - 1 years of professional service.
Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician III - 3 years of professional service.
Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician IV - 4 years of professional service.
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.
Location: Norfolk, VA
Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
Clearance: Secret
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.Shipyard - Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Use of machine tools and equipment which will require PPE. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Daily use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as viewing computer screens. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
