The Project Manager will have proven estimating and project management experience to enhance our team. The Project Manager will assist with commercial estimating from preparation of estimates start to finish for Traffic Pavement Marking and Traffic Control. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong relationships are essential. This role will be a valued teammate and a strategic partner in the continued growth of Century Traffic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to prospect new project plans, projects to bid and nurture existing client base.
• Perform plan takeoffs.
• Accurately prepare estimates start to finish with material, labor and profit.
• Prepare complete proposals with ability to identify risks and opportunities.
• On-site project inspections including before, during and after completion.
• Follow up on quotes/estimates.
• Facilitate multiple projects in various locations simultaneously.
• Coordinate complex scheduling issues with internal/external customers and supervisors.
Qualifications:
• At least two years of purchasing experience or pavement marking/traffic control fieldwork experience.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and mathematical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication and negotiation skills.
• Detailed-oriented commitment to helping others while monitoring time management.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Accepts and embraces developing technologies that can improve company operations.
• Team player with a collaborative approach that builds and sustains excellent relationships yet will also work independently to finish projects.
• Ability to work irregular hours as needed to complete tasks in sync with construction season.
• Willingness to continually learn and understand changing specifications of material needed and how it is used throughout the industry.
• Advanced mathematical skills include, but not limited to counting accuracy, number knowledge, computation, measurement, estimation, spatial sense and problem-solving.
• Analyze and compile estimate data to ensure quality and timely estimates.
• Aptitude to review, evaluate and understand blueprints, specifications, proposals, plans and drawing.
• Follow up on quotes/estimates.
• Proven time management skills to ensure projects are completed on time within budget.
• Facilitate multiple projects in various locations simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and government officials.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, pre-bid meetings and visit project sites to determine scope of work.
• Extensive skills in computer programs including Microsoft programs and estimating software .
• Keep records of won and lost bids.
• Thorough knowledge of estimating commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills both oral and written.
• Maintain professional relationships with key contacts in the construction industry
• All roles are required to be on site at their assigned location daily to perform their role.
• Able to remain seated for extended periods of time while working at a desk or computer.
• Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and operating office equipment.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies, or small equipment). Occasional trips to the field or warehouse where equipment or material is transported.
• Ability to bend, stoop, or reach to retrieve or organize office materials.
• Occasionally walking between office spaces, attending meetings, or moving around the office environment.
• Must be able to read documents and use a computer screen.
• Occasional need to stand or move for extended periods during meetings or other activities.
• Ability to handle moderate noise levels in an office environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
