Job Summary:
The Network Director, IT Operations, reporting directly to the IT CTO (Chief Technology Officer), serves as a strategic partner and operational leader within the Information Technology departments across the network. This unique role combines the responsibilities of acting as an extension of the CTO, with those of managing that the IT departments network-wide are operating effectively & efficiently. This individual will drive strategic initiatives, manage departmental operations, and provide high-level administrative support to the CTO, enabling the IT departments to achieve its goals and contribute to the overall success of WMCHealth.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the CTO, providing insights and recommendations on key initiatives, departmental priorities, and organizational challenges.
- Manages and leads a team of individuals to achieve goals set for success.
- Identified as a key partner in developing and executing efforts for the ERP.
- Draft and manage executive-level communications, presentations, and reports for the CTO, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate and manage key meetings, including executive leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and departmental reviews, ensuring effective agendas, action items, and follow-up.
- Oversee and track the progress of key strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the CTO's vision and departmental goals.
- Serve as a liaison between the CTO and other departments, fostering collaboration and communication to ensure alignment and effective execution of initiatives.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues and challenges that may impact the IT department's performance, escalating critical issues to the CTO as needed.
- Assist the CTO in prioritizing tasks, managing their calendar, and maximizing their time and effectiveness.
- Monitor and report on the overall performance of the IT department, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement efficient administrative processes and procedures tailored for the IT environment, optimizing workflow and resource utilization.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the IT department budget, track expenses, manage vendor invoices, and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
- Manage IT vendor contracts, track deliverables, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitate vendor relationship management.
- Prepare and present regular reports on IT departmental performance, key metrics (e.g., uptime, service desk performance), project status, and cybersecurity updates. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for IT service improvement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), and industry best practices.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the IT SVP & CTO, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, preparing presentations, and coordinating executive communications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in business administration or project management with a strong focus in IT, required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a supervisory role, required
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, required
- Master's degree, preferred.
Licenses / Certifications:
- PMP or other relevant project management certification, preferred
Other:
- Travel network-wide may be needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio), project management software, IT service management (ITSM) tools, and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, healthcare IT regulations (HIPAA), IT service management best practices, and executive-level operations.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in an IT context.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced IT environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and executive support skills within IT.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with IT professionals and executive leadership
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, and a focus on IT security.
- Ability to think strategically and translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and other IT service management methodologies.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related healthcare IT applications.
- Experience with cybersecurity related projects.
