This role sits at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, engineering, and strategic account management, supporting high-impact defense and industrial customers adopting next-generation additive manufacturing technologies. You will act as the primary technical and commercial point of contact for key accounts, guiding them from early concept development through full-scale production. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, applications, and manufacturing teams to solve complex production challenges and accelerate adoption of innovative 3D printing solutions. You will help customers translate advanced designs into manufacturable parts while optimizing performance, cost, and scalability. Working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment, you will play a critical role in expanding production use cases and strengthening long-term customer partnerships. This is a highly strategic role combining technical expertise, customer leadership, and program execution within the defense manufacturing ecosystem.
In this role, you will manage strategic defense-focused accounts while driving the adoption and successful execution of advanced additive manufacturing programs.
- Serve as the primary account and technical lead for key defense and industrial customers
- Guide customers through the full lifecycle of additive manufacturing programs, from concept to production
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting engineering and manufacturing teams on design and production strategy
- Collaborate with internal applications and engineering teams to solve complex part production and execution challenges
- Analyze and optimize complex geometries using CAD tools and print preparation software to support costing and feasibility
- Develop and document statements of work, technical requirements, and customer acceptance criteria
- Advise customers on design optimization, manufacturability, and economic implications of additive manufacturing
- Manage cross-functional coordination across internal teams, customers, and contract manufacturers to ensure successful delivery
- Support troubleshooting, conflict resolution, and technical problem-solving across multi-stakeholder environments
- Maintain strong project documentation and ensure effective program tracking and execution
This role requires a strong blend of engineering expertise, customer-facing experience, and program management skills within advanced manufacturing or aerospace/defense environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Material Science, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or additive manufacturing environments
- Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar tools)
- Experience with additive manufacturing, machining, casting, forging, or related production processes
- Proven experience managing technical projects from early development through production
- Strong customer-facing and account management skills in a technical environment
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects independently
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to translate engineering concepts into clear business and production outcomes
- Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and execution discipline
- Competitive base salary range: $100,000 – $150,000 depending on experience and location
