About This Position
JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
DEPARTMENT(S): General Surgery (may float to other Clinics)
REPORTS TO: Practice Manager/Clinical Nursing Director or Physician Clinics Director
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing high quality care to patients in a safe, efficient and courteous manner, using proper procedures. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned shift. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
As Medical Assistant – Prefer graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent experience.
As LPN - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Wyoming licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. IV-certified preferred.
As RN - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Nurse.
EXPERIENCE
Prefer at least 2 years of experience in an outpatient care area.

- Must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles.
- Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize tasks.
- Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Effective computer and keyboarding skills.
- Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook.
- Ability to learn new computer software applications.
- Able to serve as an example to other employees.
- Able to take pertinent, concise history.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to serve as an example to other employees.
Additional as LPN or RN:
- Up to date on currently used drugs, their actions and side effects.
- Understanding of medical/legal considerations.
- Up to date IV therapy-venipuncture ability (if IV-certified).
- Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
BLS (AHA) required.
