Position Summary
Newberry Health is seeking an On-Call SCRQSA Limited Licensed Radiographer to provide as-needed coverage. This role includes weekday evenings and weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—AM & PM), with the ability to work 12-hour shifts when needed.
The Radiographer performs limited diagnostic imaging procedures as permitted by South Carolina law, ensuring compliance with established radiologic, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting clinic operations as directed and within scope of training and licensure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform timely, high-quality radiographic imaging within the scope of licensure for provider evaluation and treatment
- Operate specialized imaging equipment, including Digital Radiography (DR) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including:
- Verifying patient identity and orders
- Explaining procedures and answering questions
- Positioning patients and adjusting equipment for optimal image quality
- Observe patients for signs of discomfort or distress and take appropriate action
- Maintain and document accurate imaging records, including images sent to external facilities
- Conduct routine quality control checks and audits on radiologic equipment
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order; report issues and submit work orders as necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area
- Utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) to review orders and enter required documentation
- Respond to provider questions regarding imaging exams
- Perform additional clinical and clerical support duties as assigned, based on competency

Requirements:- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) Limited License – General Radiography (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
