About This Position
At STARC Systems, we believe great teams build great products. As a Second Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting and guiding a team in our assembly and machine shop environment. This position combines hands-on production work with team leadership, helping employees succeed while ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
In this role, you will lead and support a team of approximately 15 - 20 employees on second shift, helping coordinate daily production activities while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

The Second Shift Supervisor will play an important role in helping scale operations while maintaining the quality and teamwork that define our culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include but are limited to:
Team Leadership and Support:
- Provide day-to-day leadership for second-shift employees in the assembly and machine shop areas
- Address employee concerns and workplace issues proactively, working with management and HR when appropriate to support resolution
- Help onboard and train new team members to ensure they are set up for success
- Assign and coordinate work to support production goals and workflow
- Offer coaching, guidance, and feedback to help employees grow and perform at their best
- Share updates between shifts to support continuity and efficient operations
- Participate in performance discussions, including 90-day and annual reviews
Production and Operations:
- Work alongside the team performing production tasks such as assembly, machine operation, inspection, and packing
- Interpret specifications, prints, and job orders to complete work accurately
- Set up and operate equipment needed for assembly and machining processes
- Perform both primary and secondary assembly operations
Quality and Continuous Improvement:
- Inspect materials, products, and equipment to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain high product quality and help identify opportunities for improvement
- Monitor inventory levels using Kanban systems and restock materials as needed
Safety and Workplace Organization
- Support a safe and organized production environment through consistent application of 5S principles
- Follow all company safety policies and encourage safe practices among team members
- Operate forklifts as needed to move materials and support shipping and receiving activities
- Supports and models STARC Systems values and mission
- Other duties as assigned, relevant to the role and in support of the needs of the company
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with hands-on familiarity with shop floor operations
- 3+ years of proven leadership experience supervising or leading teams, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Associate’s degree in manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Ability to read and accurately interpret production drawings, work instructions, and job orders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and support a diverse production team
- Ability to prioritize work, coordinate tasks across a team, and maintain production schedules with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, maintain accountability, and support a positive work environment
- Commitment to maintaining high quality standards and continuous improvement
- Strong awareness of safety practices and the ability to promote a safe work environment for all team members

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, with help from Team members as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
