West Cary Group is a full-service, digital marketing and technology agency based in Richmond, Virginia, which services numerous mid-sized local and Fortune 500 clients across a vast array of industries. Position Summary: Creates final mechanicals with attention to composition, color, typography and visual impact.
Position Responsibilities:
- Designs and executes mechanicals, based on client specification, brand standards, budget constraints and final format needed for file output
- Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon specs and aesthetic design concepts
- Presents sample to Creative Director for approval
- Provides final pre-flight of digital files that are delivered to clients and vendors to ensure the accuracy of the completed project
- Reviews proofs for highest levels of quality and accuracy
- Uses a wide range of media, including photography
- Keeps abreast of developments in marketing and advertising environments
- Contributes ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
- Other duties as assigned
Role Qualifications:
- Must be able to effectively execute design solutions against a creative brief to meet constraints of cost, time and client needs
- Must work well in a team, with printers, copywriters, photographers, proofreaders, other designers, account executives, website designers and marketing specialists
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Graphic Design, Advertising or Marketing, or 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related field required
- Proficiency in the entire Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Microsoft applications as well as Sketch, and Figma
- Ability to execute files using Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Thinks creatively to produce new ideas
- Ability to think visually and to envision a project from beginning to end
- Must be able to solve complex problems, make judgments and decisions, and think logically and critically
- Ability to multitask while meeting tight deadlines
- Produces accurate and high-quality work
