Position Summary
The Admissions Coordinator plays a critical role in recruiting and advising prospective students to determine eligibility for OIC’s career and technical education programs. This position is responsible for guiding students through the admissions process —from initial inquiry to program eligibility—while ensuring a smooth, ethical, and student-centered experience.
The Admissions Coordinator supports the organization’s enrollment goals by conducting outreach, evaluating applications, managing admissions data, administering entrance assessments, and maintaining consistent communication with prospective students. This role requires a results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping students achieve their educational and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
Advising & Student Engagement
Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, providing accurate and timely information about career and technical education program offerings, admissions requirements and timelines.
 Conduct admissions consultations (in person, virtual, or phone) to assess student readiness, skills, interests, and career goals.
 Guide students through the admissions process, including application completion, entrance assessments, and required documentation.
 Maintain ongoing communication with prospective students via phone calls, emails, text messages, and written correspondence.
 Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Application Processing & Records Management
 Review, evaluate, and process inquiries/applications, transcripts, test scores, and supporting documentation.
 Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the admissions and student information systems.
 Track student progress throughout the admissions process and follow up on incomplete applications.
 Maintain complete and accurate student files in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
 Assist with auditing reports to support admissions decisions and enrollment efficiency.

Recruitment & Outreach
 Support recruitment efforts for both traditional and non-traditional students.
 Respond to inquiries generated through website marketing, phone calls, emails, and events.
 Represent the organization at high schools, community organizations, workforce events, career fairs, and virtual recruitment activities.
 Assist in planning and participating in open houses, information sessions, orientations, and other enrollment-related events.
 Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, counselors, and community partners to promote Career & Technical programs and pathways.

General & Administrative Support
 Provide campus tours and assist with Open House and new student orientation activities.
 Serve as a liaison between the admissions office and workforce development, employer services and student support departments.
 Maintain accurate tracking of inquiries, appointments, and enrollment outcomes.
 Meet daily, weekly, and monthly outreach and enrollment goals, including heavy telephone engagement.
 Perform other duties as assigned by the Recruitment & Events Manager or senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
 Minimum of two (2) years of experience in admissions, enrollment, or student recruitment within a college, university, or career/technical education setting.
 At least two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with sales or performance goals.
 High School or GED Required. Associate’s degree preferred;
 Knowledge of admissions procedures, student recruitment, and retention practices preferred.
 Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for recruitment events
