Description:

Position Summary: The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas in accordance with resort standards. This position ensures that each guest enjoys a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, demonstrate attention to detail, and consistently deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Clean and service guest rooms according to resort standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing linens and amenities.
  • Clean bathrooms thoroughly, ensuring fixtures, floors, and mirrors are spotless and sanitized.
  • Remove trash, used linens, and room service items promptly.
  • Inspect rooms for maintenance needs and report any issues or damages to management.
  • Guest Service and Experience:
  • Greet guests courteously when encountered and assist with reasonable requests.
  • Ensure all guest preferences and requests are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and represent the resort in a professional manner.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols.
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly and safely in accordance with training and manufacturer instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, lost items, or maintenance concerns immediately.
  • Adhere to resort policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
  • Teamwork and Communication:
  • Work closely with other housekeeping staff and supervisors to ensure daily room assignments are completed efficiently.
  • Communicate any guest concerns, room discrepancies, or special requests to supervisors.
  • Support fellow team members by assisting with additional cleaning tasks during busy periods.
  • Inventory and Supplies:
  • Restock housekeeping carts with necessary cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
  • Notify the supervisor of low inventory levels or supply shortages.
  • Maintain organized and clean storage areas.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct final checks to ensure rooms meet resort cleanliness and presentation standards before guest arrival.
  • Follow detailed checklists and procedures to maintain consistency in cleaning quality.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned (e.g., deep cleaning, carpet care, upholstery cleaning
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Experience:

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or resort environment preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality is an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, honest, and professional in appearance and conduct.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred, not required).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals safely and use protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently to meet time standards for room cleaning

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily performed indoors within guest rooms and resort facilities.
  • May include exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and occasional outdoor conditions when moving between buildings.
  • Requires working weekends, holidays, and flexible hours depending on occupancy levels.
