Basic Purpose
Provides strategic direction and leadership with statewide economic development partners to support corporate goals, major Government Accounts, and assigned business accounts. Enhances relationships with economic development partners, leadership at Government Accounts, assigned business accounts, by providing company programs and economic development tools to support growth opportunities through economic and redevelopment coordination, rate data, outage coordination and communication. Coordinates with internal departments to identify growth opportunities and increase customer value. Provides management of government accounts and assigned business accounts by developing customized plans to provide customer first experiences and identify company growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works to strengthen and build relationships with leadership at government accounts, assigned business accounts, and economic development partners by developing customer specific business plans, rate and usage data, outage coordination and communication, company programs and initiatives to support a customer first experience.
- Identifies new customer opportunities through lead development and partnership with economic development stakeholders to drive growth for the company.
- Identifies government development and planning coordination to support municipal growth opportunities through economic and redevelopment efforts.
- Maintains relationships with economic development partners through strategic partnerships to drive new customer growth. Monitors state and federal customers to support company initiatives.
- Coordinates with government affairs, when applicable, as single point of contact and communicates information on a regular basis for elected official communication and outreach.
- Leads efforts to support economic development strategies and major company initiatives that support government accounts, assigned customers, and economic development partners to drive corporate goals and metrics as assigned.
- Supports economic development efforts with strategic connections to municipal and government accounts to drive growth and company investment opportunities.
- Supports the economic development team with production of the company’s internally and externally focused marketing relative to Economic Development to align with government and business account initiatives.
- Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in business, accounting, communications, government or political science or a related field and 6 years of related work experiences.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Utility operations as it pertains to business development and customer management
- Developing and maintaining relationships with state and local governments
- Corporate strategy relating to business development, growth, operations, etc.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System or equivalent technology.
Demonstrated skills such as:
- Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal and leadership
- Oral and written communication, including presentation
- Project management, prioritization and handling multiple issues and projects concurrently
- Maintaining sensitive and confidential information regarding Company information.
Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.
