SCHEDULE: Mon- Fri; 7:30 am & 4 pm or 8 am - 4:30 pm
SUMMARY:
The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor performs, delegates, and coordinates patient care to the patient within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. Effectively interacts with patients, families, Radiologists, other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional treatment and care. Assumes responsibility for the management of operational and allocation of materials and staff. Coaches and supports the team in accomplishing the department and health system mission, operating plan, and core values. Ensures that exams are delivered by those who are competent to do so according to the pertinent population, level of technology required, complexity of care needs, and the age of the patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides daily supervision to assigned technical staff (including off-shifts as appropriate).
Establishes work schedules for technical staff consistent with cost, service, and volume expectations.
Serves as a resource to assigned staff for communication, orientation, in-service education, and technical questions.
Assists the director/chief with the performance evaluation of assigned staff.
Assists the director/chief with recruiting and disciplinary procedures of assigned staff.
Collects statistics.
Collects performance improvement data.
Orders and maintains inventory of required supplies.
Interfaces with clinical engineering on assigned equipment/technology.
Provides assistance to the director/chief with respect to the design and maintenance of intra- and inter-departmental interfaces.
Provides assistance to the director/chief in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
Provides assistance to the director/chief in the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
Provides assistance to the director/chief in the development of service requisitions and patient education materials.
Serves as a member of the department's senior leadership team.
Provides clinical service on a rotation consistent with the other non-clinical duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine or completion of a certificate program from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
For those hired on or after 1/1/2023, a minimum of one year’s experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist-Lead, Supervisor, or equivalent position.
Required Licensure / Certification Skills: NYS License in Nuclear Medicine.
NMTCB and/or ARRT (N).
BLS/CPR certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $43.00 - $55.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
