About This Position
Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Inside Sales and Account Management team member. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and will be entrusted with managing existing accounts as well as acquiring new customers and new sales opportunities to benefit the organization. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to manage order entry processes efficiently.
This position will also function as a trainer for Level I and Level II positions
Essential Functions
Account Management
- Be a professional, well spoken, reliable individual who will do what is needed to build relationships. Heavy phone and email communication with both existing and potential customers is a must.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions of customer requirements. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Investigate, define, analyze and propose solutions to customer claims, problems with deliveries, returns and credits and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to resolve the same.
- Maintains, expands and qualifies a database of customer and prospect accounts and records of interactions with details of opportunities, inquiries, complaints, or comments.
- Communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing, ensuring clarity and understanding while improving organizational reputation and goodwill.
- Prepare and deliver price quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, etc., and prepare orders subject to the approval of the company. Uses knowledge of a specific product, service, or other assigned area of expertise to answer inquiries or to forward to the appropriate staff.
- Collaborate with other departments such as engineering and scheduling to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Performing ongoing analysis on customer service activities related to sales, productivity, cost, and time management.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of customer interactions and order details.
- Act as customer advocate internally and Jensen advocate externally.
- Visit existing customers to strengthen relationships and understanding of customer needs and expectations.
- Perform additional duties as required and or requested.
Inside Sales
- Develops new business by analyzing current account potential; initiating, developing, and closing sales; recommending new applications and sales strategies.
- Researching potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources.
- Qualifying leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
- Presenting and delivering information to prospective customers.
- Answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions.
- Monitor and track quoting activities, follow up on outstanding quotes, and provide regular updates to sales team members and management.
- Report weekly and monthly sales figures with strategic commentary.
- Close sales and work with client through closing process.
- Identify opportunities for sales expansion with existing customers.
- Arrange, prepare for and visit existing and potential customers individually.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of customer service, account management or inside sales within a manufacturing job shop.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, planning and analytical skills.
- Extensive knowledge of customer service procedures and principles.
- Must be organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must have ERP experience. Global Shop ERP experience is considered a plus!
- The ability to read blueprints is highly desired.
- Comfortable making cold calls and talking with new people extensively.
- Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching the next potential client.
Work Environment
- Work in a collaborative office environment.
- Some customer site visits may be required.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Requires the ability to read written instructions, reports, and other documentation.
- Must be able to lift-up to 25 pounds at times.
- Wear appropriate PPE when in designated areas.
- Ability to safely enter and navigate areas where manufacturing activities are taking place.
