Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support procurement operations on a large-scale, hyperscale data center project in Sparks, NV. This role will play a critical part in ensuring timely procurement, tracking, and delivery of materials and equipment; primarily within electrical scopes supporting fast-paced construction activities.

This is a boots-on-the-ground role working closely with project management, field teams, and vendors to keep procurement aligned with project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services to support construction activities
• Generate and process purchase orders (POs) in alignment with project requirements
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Track orders, monitor lead times, and proactively identify and mitigate delays
• Maintain accurate procurement logs, documentation, and reporting
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents to align procurement with project schedules
• Assist with vendor selection, bid comparisons, and pricing evaluations
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and company procedures
• Support inventory tracking and material receiving processes onsite
• Resolve discrepancies related to orders, invoices, and deliveries

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within construction or industrial projects
• Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-scale electrical projects strongly preferred
• Familiarity with electrical materials, equipment, and vendors is a major plus
• Strong understanding of procurement workflows, PO management, and vendor coordination
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement/project management systems (e.g., Procore, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Experience working onsite in construction environments preferred
