Job Description

POSITION TITLE:

Accounts Payable Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing the accounts payable process for assigned vendors. Supports accounting monthly close function with assigned account reconciliation and maintenance of supporting schedules. Assures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Promotes the company’s mission and philosophy.

REPORTS TO:

CONTROLLER

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Accounts Payable

  • Receives, processes and enters all invoices into system for payment
  • Pays invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements, obtaining authorization of payment
  • Maintains vendor account information by reconciling vendor statements, invoices and communications
  • Other duties to support the accounts payable team as assigned.
  • B. General Accounting Support

  • Participates in the monthly close, preparing financial statements for assigned entities.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliation for assigned accounts and entities.
  • Maintains schedule for Prepaid Expenses.
  • Prepares, Maintains quarterly Capital purchases for investor compliance reporting.
  • Other duties to support the accounts payable team as assigned.
  • C. General

  • Ensures that all proprietary, financial and resident information is kept confidential.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of the office, its records and restricted information
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Promotes the company’s mission and philosophy.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor with all Employees, Residents, Visitors, and Families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the company’s Employees effectively.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
  • Ability to relate to the public, Residents, families, Employees and other professionals appropriately.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide information as requested and required.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, 30 pounds regularly.
  • Experience with accounting and financial software (i.e. Yardi, Quickbooks)
  • Ability to analyze information and report research results.
  • Employee is organized, has data entry skills, general math skills, pays attention to detail, is accurate and thorough.
  • Ability to teach/train others effectively.
  • TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    Knowledgeable in accounting and financial software applications. Two years of experience preferred.

    EDUCATION:

    Minimum Associates degree in accounting or business.
