State Inspector/Experienced Automotive Technician – Night Shift Leader in Richmond, Virginia at Short Pump Motorcars LLC

Great Lakes Honda is growing, and we’re looking for a highly skilled State Inspector / Experienced Technician to join our team and step into a lead role for our upcoming night shift operation.

This is a unique opportunity to help build and lead our evening service team from the ground up.

We are seeking a certified State Inspector with strong diagnostic and repair experience who is ready to take on a leadership role. The selected candidate will initially start on a mid-shift schedule to integrate into our team, processes, and culture. Once established, this role will transition into leading our evening shift, supported by a team of B and C-level technicians already being assembled.

• Perform state inspections in compliance with all regulations
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues
• Lead and mentor evening shift technicians
• Maintain high standards for productivity, efficiency, and quality
• Support workflow management and ensure smooth shop operations during evening hours
• Collaborate with service advisors and management to deliver excellent customer service

What We’re Looking For

• Active State Inspector license (required)
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
• Proven experience as an automotive technician (A or strong B-level preferred)
• Leadership mindset with the ability to guide and support a team
• Dependable, self-motivated, and organized
• Willingness to transition into an evening/night shift leadership role
