Job Title: Sr. Financial Analyst

Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week

Reports to: Cheif of Staff

FLSA Status: Exempt

Opportunity

Our Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function of the company with a proactive financial analytical approach. We’re looking for someone who is intelligent and desiring to work in a fast growth company, and is a good fit with our corporate culture. The ideal candidate is someone who can effectively manage multiple responsibilities while developing effective financial reporting and expense analysis to help the company make better decisions based on accurate data and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate the financial performance of faith-based leadership events. Utilize financial data from various sources to create models that provide decision support for the company's events and operations, including analyzing revenue and expense patterns and cost structures to inform financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Financial Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the company's financial performance by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts. Recommend adjustments to financial plans and resource allocation based on the analysis.
  • Financial Projections and Cash Flow Management: Develop andmaintainfinancial projections that include detailed cash flow, income, and balance sheet forecasts usingQuickBooks. Adapt these projections to align with the unique financial considerations of faith-based leadership events and activities.
  • Variance Analysis and Trend Identification: Analyze past financial results, perform variance analysis, andidentifytrends specific to faith-based events and the company's finances. Evaluate variations from plans and forecasts,identifyunderlying causes, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Presentations: Prepareaccurateandtimelyfinancial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, tailored to reflect the company's faith-based leadership events. Present financial information to stakeholders, leadership, and executive teams, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations.
  • Trend Analysis and Optimization Recommendations: Provide analysis of trends in financial data and forecasts.Identifyopportunities for optimization and recommend actionable strategies that align with the company's mission andobjectives.
  • Process Improvements and Reporting Automation: Continuouslyimprovefinancial systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.Identifyopportunities for automation and streamlining of financial processes and workflows, including the creation of standardized reports and ad-hoc tools. Collaborate with internal departments to automate reporting and forecasting tools,utilizingExcel or specialized platforms like Power BI, to streamline financial reporting and improve efficiency.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal controls, while also integrating Christian stewardship principles. Proactivelyidentifyfinancial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company'sfinancial interests.
  • Expense management:Optimizecompany-wide expense management processes, including monitoring spending patterns, analyzing cost drivers, andidentifyingopportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Develop and enforce expense controls and policies, ensureaccurateexpense tracking and reporting, and partner with department leaders to align spending with budgetary goals and strategic priorities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

  • Utilizing financial data to create models that provide decision support for the company's events and operations.
  • Conducting quality assurance of imported data andpreparingrelated reports.
  • Analyzing past financial results, performing variance analysis, andidentifyingtrends.
  • Improving financial systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Collaborating withITteam toidentifyand implement opportunities for automation and streamlining of financial processes and workflows.
  • Evaluating changes and updates to financial systems and conducting UAT testing of system changes.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in finance or business Analytics.
  • 1 year of financial analyst or data analyst experience.
