About This Position

Position Title: AMS Application and SQL Analyst

The AMS Application and SQL Analyst supports the daily operation of ACOGs Association Management System (AMS) by executing workflows, maintaining routine processes, resolving system issues and implementing solutions. This role partners with stakeholders to clarify requirements and define problems as they relate to AMS updates, processes, and issues, ensuring requests are documented and tracked through completion. The analyst performs AMS updates, imports, and SQL-driven tasks; coordinates vendor escalations; and conducts testing activities, including identifying test data, executing test cases, and validating fixes. This position supports reliable AMS performance and consistent support for membership and program operations across the organization and collaborates with technical teams to support data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives involving AMS data.

Note: This position is considered Hybrid and will need to commute to ACOG's office located in Washington, D.C.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day AMS operations, including executing workflows, processing updates, database updates, running scripts, and maintaining AMS-driven tasks.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand issues, define problems, clarify requirements, and ensure needs are accurately documented and resolved.
  • Troubleshoot AMS related issues; modify CMS pages, update queries, views, and stored procedures; design and develop custom AMS pages and components and manage SQL Agent jobs that support operational workflows.
  • Maintain and update AMS reports, mailing lists, and operational outputs required by internal teams.
  • Design and update AMS data structures, including creating new database tables and modifying existing schema components to support new features and business processes.
  • Perform AMS data imports; match and clean incoming information as needed.
  • Coordinate with AMS vendors when escalation is required, preparing clear problem statements and tracking resolution through completion.
  • Conduct testing activities for AMS updates, configuration changes, and new workflows, including identifying and preparing appropriate test data, executing test cases, documenting results, and validating fixes before deployment.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives involving AMS data.
  • Document AMS data structures, business rules, and operational workflows to support enterprise data initiatives and reporting.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on AMS data structures and operational workflows to support data engineering, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  • Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and testing activities related to new data pipelines, integrations, or reporting solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure AMS data is accurately represented in downstream systems, reports, and analytics environments.
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including database backups and updates to test and development environments.
  • Provide second-tier AMS support and collaborate across teams to ensure reliable AMS performance and workflow continuity.
  • Partner with and receive mentorship from the Data Engineer to develop skills in data integration, pipeline processes, and advanced data management practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the IT Solutions software development process.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to write, troubleshoot, and update SQL queries, stored procedures, and operational scripts used in AMS workflows.
  • Ability to identify and prepare relevant test data and support thorough testing of AMS changes, system upgrades, and new processes.
  • Strong knowledge of AMS workflows, membership processes, and configurations to support troubleshooting and evaluate proposed changes.
  • Ability to interpret operational data structures and business processes and communicate them effectively to technical teams such as data engineers and analytics staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-definition skills with the ability to gather requirements, clarify needs, and translate stakeholder issues into actionable steps.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially when partnering with Membership and other non-technical teams.
  • Ability to coordinate vendor escalations, document issues clearly, and follow through until resolution.
  • Skill in testing system changes, validating outcomes, and ensuring operational readiness before deployment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience, including experience with Association Management Systems (preferably NetForum), MS SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Experience supporting data reporting, analytics, or data integration initiatives preferred.
Salary Range
$80,000—$85,000 USD
