The Loan Officer leads borrower intake, analyzes commercial real estate and community development loans, and manages loan files through closing and servicing. This front-line role balances relationship-building with borrowers and thorough credit analysis.
Ideal candidates have commercial real estate finance or CDFI lending experience, work independently, and value accuracy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide borrowers through intake, applications, and discovery calls
- Analyze borrower and project financials, including budgets and proformas
- Assess project feasibility and alignment with community lending products
- Prepare credit memos with loan recommendations
- Maintain loan files and track pipeline activity
- Support loan servicing, including draw requests and portfolio monitoring
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate closings
- 4+ years commercial real estate experience
- 2+ years commercial or CDFI lending experience
- Experience analyzing real estate transactions and managing loan files
- Strong financial analysis skills and Excel proficiency
- Ability to manage multiple projects accurately and independently
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Professionalism and discretion with sensitive financial information
- Affordable housing or community development lending
- CDFI or mission-driven lending experience
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or related field
- Familiarity with loan servicing software (e.g., DownHome)
