K2 is seeking a Research Nurse to support our clinic out of Nashville, TN in a full-time capacity.

The Research Nurse promotes Good Clinical Practice in the conduct of laboratory responsibilities. To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate clinical research activities including patient screening, enrollment, and longitudinal follow-up according to study protocols.
  • Perform clinical nursing functions such as administering investigational products, monitoring vital signs, and conducting physical assessments.
  • Report adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs) following study protocols, ensuring timely notification to Principal Investigators, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure quality control in data collection, maintaining meticulous Source Documentation and completing Case Report Forms (CRFs) with high accuracy.
  • Maintain clinical supplies and investigational products. Oversee the proper storage, handling, and accountability of study medications and equipment.
  • Comply with all clinical policies, GCP guidelines, and OSHA regulations related to patient safety, data integrity, and infection control.
  • Serve as a back-up to the Lead Clinical Research Coordinator or Research Manager as needed.
  • Provide phlebotomy and specimen processing support, ensuring samples are handled and shipped according to specific lab manuals
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical research principles, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Protection of Human Subjects.
  • Knowledge of nursing standards, cleanliness, and infection control policies within a research or outpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of protocol adherence, including the ability to interpret complex inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Accuracy – Ability to perform clinical assessments and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communication – Ability to communicate complex study requirements effectively to patients, families, and multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Computer Skills – Proficient ability to use Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Confidentiality – Maintain patient, team member, and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Customer Service Oriented – Friendly, cheerful, and helpful to patients and study participants. Ability to meet participant needs while strictly following protocol-defined procedures.
  • Detail Oriented – Extreme attention to detail regarding data points, timing of assessments, and regulatory compliance.
  • Flexibility – Ability to adapt easily to changing study demands, protocol amendments, and varying workloads.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • IV insertion experience required.
  • Clinical research experience preferred. ### Certification and Licensure:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required.
  • BLS/ACLS certification required.
  • CCRC or CCRA certification (ACRP/SoCRA) preferred.
