Position Summary
Clarity Billing Services is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate preparation and submission of medical claims, payment posting, resolving claim issues, and ensuring timely reimbursement for our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of billing software, coding systems, and payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper.
- Post payments and reconcile accounts.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and initiate appeals when necessary.
- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients regarding billing issues.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay current on insurance guidelines and coding updates.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or certification in medical billing/coding preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing (multi-specialty billing experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Certification through AAPC or similar (e.g., CPC, CCS).
- Experience in chiropractic billing.
- Experience in behavioral health billing.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
