A license is required in therapeutic discipline.
Experience Requirements
Must have a minimum of one year of direct mental health experience either in an inpatient or an outpatient setting. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques is desirable but training is available.

We are headquartered in Mexico, MO and currently serve the Audrain, Callaway, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, and Monroe Counties. We employ close to 200 people at our 5 locations.
Overall ResponsibilityThe Outpatient Therapist provides psychotherapy and counseling services to children, adolescents, and/or adults through individual, family, marital, and group therapy. This position is primarily direct‑service focused, with at least 80% of work hours dedicated to delivering clinical services to clients.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic interviewing including Intake Evaluations.
- Provide treatment using evidenced-based practices and approaches.
- Is trained and/or certified in the treatment of trauma-related disorders.
- Coordinate treatment efforts with the families of clients and personnel of other service agencies
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Make court appearances regarding clients, as necessary.
- Participate in supervision sessions as necessary with Director of Behavioral Health Clinic.
- Meet all internal and external reporting requirements including data collection for Quality Improvement evaluation conducted by the ACCH.
- Attend educational seminars and meetings related to professional education and maintenance of licensure.
- Maintain adequate up-to-date records and provide written documentation on each client using Center guidelines including Intake histories, Progress Notes, referral agency summaries, treatment plans, transfer/discharge summaries, and other clinical reporting requested to meet the Federal, state, and licensing and certification regulations and standards.
- Participate in consultation and education plans to inform community agencies, groups, and individuals about the Center and its programs.
- Work with clients in crisis states when calling in or walking in clinic.
- Other duties as requested by the department director.
- Complete continuing education to keep skills current with relevant evidenced-based practices.

- Highly flexible and creative person who can work with a variety of clientele.
- Willing to work in a structured environment with a varied caseload of persons with mental illness.
- Strong interpersonal, clinical, and crisis intervention skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to organize and maintain written documentation according to agency requirements and in a timely fashion.
- General computer skills and the ability to use an electronic health record to document services.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
