RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and coordinate transportation solutions to meet customer service and delivery expectations
• Schedule, route, and dispatch drivers for timely pickups and deliveries
• Communicate shipment details, pickup and delivery times, and special handling requirements with internal teams, drivers, agents, and customers
• Adjust routes and dispatch plans as conditions change to maintain service levels
• Maintain accurate records of dispatched calls, routes, delivery and pickup times, and route changes
• Review driver logs, arrival times, and dispatched activity for accuracy and compliance
• Monitor vehicle maintenance and repair schedules and coordinate as needed
• Track customer shipping schedules, service issues, and complaints
• Ensure driver compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, company policies, and applicable tariffs
• Maintain working knowledge of DOT requirements, industry updates, and policies
• Collaborate with agencies to coordinate hauling opportunities, overflow movements, containers, and trailer utilization
• Develop, track, and report operational metrics and performance data
• Identify opportunities to improve dispatch processes, procedures, and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachelors degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of household goods (HHG) van planning experience
• Proven ability to plan routes, schedule drivers, and manage dispatch operations effectively
• Strong customer service background with the ability to manage customer expectations
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations and transportation industry requirements
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and perform under pressure
