- Previous Medical Office experience preferred
Summary
A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objective of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
- Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
- Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
- Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
- Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
- Communicate with the therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program.
- Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
- Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
- Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
- For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
- Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
- Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
- Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
- Maintain a positive attitude in the clinic.
- Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours. 16. All other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements
Education
- Currently enrolled in school or graduate of at least high school.
Certifications/Licensure
- Not Applicable
Experience
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Technical Skills
- Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.
Soft Skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
- Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time
