Speech Therapist- Rehab Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

The Speech Therapist organizes and conducts speech language therapy programs at CRMC for patients in the acute setting, outpatient setting, home health or inpatient rehabilitation facility as needed to facilitate the rehabilitation of the mentally or physically handicapped. The SLP provides direct patient focused care to include speech language pathology and swallowing evaluations as well as quality treatment with short and long term goals determined by the patient’s needs. All SLP’s are required to have competency for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Therapists who will work with children or infants less than 13 years will require specific training and competencies demonstrated prior to working with pediatrics. The SLP also assists the director of the department in the supervision of support staff, quality assurance and improvement activities and the overall operation of the speech therapy department. The SLP is required to perform the professional duties and standards of care as specified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, state and federal laws and regulations, and TJC standards. Other duties as assigned.

Education: M.S. degree from accredited Speech Language Pathology program required. Tennessee Speech Therapist license required. CCC credentials or eligibility to receive these are also required.

Experience: Experience preferred but not required.
