About This Position

Job Summary: Enhance the Domestic Violence Center’s (DVCCC) partnerships and coordination with Chester County Medical Systems with a focus on maternal healthcare systems. Provide in-person and virtual training and education to medical professionals, countywide. Develop and maintain victim referral tracking tool for direct service/hotline staff. Engage in timely follow-up with victims referred to DVCCC through the medical system.

Job Responsibilities:

Outreach & Education

•Enhance DVCCC partnerships and coordination with Chester County Medical Systems.

•This program has a specific focus on maternal healthcare and requires ongoing engagement with Maternal and Child Health Consortium (MCHC) task forces.

•Provide in-person and virtual training and educational materials to medical professionals, countywide – including in healthcare/medical settings – to improve collaboration between medical systems and DVCCC advocates in supporting victims.

•Identify areas of need for and encourage policy changes within medical systems to improve victim responses.

Victim Services

•Maintain strict confidentiality of all client identification and information. May disclose confidential information only with valid, informed consent from a client or party legally authorized to consent on behalf of client.

•Expedite and track/document follow up calls with victims referred by the medical system.

Data Collection & Analysis

•Develop and maintain a victim referral tracking tool to be used in coordination with direct service and hotline staff.

•Analyze program survey and client data to provide timely information for reporting.

REQUIRED TRAINING

•Attend a minimum of 15 hours of training annually.

•Complete PCADV’s required 45-hour counselor/advocate training.

TEAMWORK

•Trains direct service staff on how to utilize medical systems referral spreadsheets.

•Documents program and participant information in the ETO and other necessary databases/tracking systems regularly.

Prerepares and submits all PCADV required reports on time.

•ttends staff meetings, other required meetings, and in-service trainings.

•Participates in all agency-wide events: 45-hour advocate training; October awareness; volunteer recognition; various celebrations; fairs, etc.

•Assist with accomplishing agency-wide annual goals and objectives.

•Work collaboratively with hospitals, clinics, and other medical/healthcare settings and resources to assist with coordination of services for victim/survivors.

•All duties assigned by Director of Education Programs and/or CEO.

Skills and Qualifications

•Bilingual in Spanish.

•Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

•Strong commitment to the mission and goals of DVCCC, professional work goals and personal development.

•Through knowledge and understanding of issues confronted by victims of abuse.

•Able to work with victims and their children.

•Able to work with a diverse population.

•Familiarity with civil, criminal, and family court systems, and community agency support services available to victims of domestic violence.

•Ability to speak to program participants and various audiences.

•Ability to strategize issues related to domestic violence.

•Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and a variety of internal and external colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

•Much of the work performed is sedentary in nature yet may require the employee to exert themselves with minimal force and/or be able lift or move educational program materials associated with the job responsibilities – like folding tables, projectors, brochures and materials, etc.

Other Requirements

•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.

•Must have transportation to attend and participate in and provide seminars and trainings.

•Must be willing to work flexible hours – primarily daytime – to meet program needs and grantor accountability requirements.

•Adhere to all agency policies and procedures (attendance, work hours, paperwork, etc)

•Childcare, criminal and FBI clearances as required by the state and DVCCC.

Environment and Conditions

The incumbent’s typical place of work is an indoor environment and thus will not be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; however, tabling events are an important part of education and outreach work and some events may be outdoors.

Minimum Training and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in social services, Communications, Education, or a related field.

•Three years related experience.

•Equivalent combination of education and experience.
