POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Community Relations Manager plays a crucial role in fostering partnerships, advancing health equity, and promoting a positive social impact. This role requires a dynamic professional skilled in community outreach, diversity and inclusion, and program development, all aimed at building trust within the community and increasing engagement with health services. The Community Relations Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, progress initiatives to address social determinants of health, and create programs that ensure equitable access to healthcare resources. They will also lead in organizing presentations and events to educate and engage community members. This role is designated to serving ECHN as well as the Waterbury HEALTH networks, and to meet the needs across all locations, dependent on the needs of the organizations.
This role is the primary liaison with students interested in shadowing and/or internships, community organizations seeking partnership and/or support from ECHN and community members seeking to volunteer at an ECHN hospital. Identifies and develops community relationships with local organizations to schedule presentations, coordinate and support non-profits with both sponsorship and volunteerism from ECHN. This role coordinates the recruitment, retention, recognition and management of both interns and volunteers. Coordinates employee volunteer, logistics, and execution of community events. Reporting directly to the Director of Social Impact and Health Equity, this role will coordinate the activities of the DEI committee and manage hospital caregiver engagement projects, supporting the hospital’s initiatives in addressing health equity by fostering community connections that help address disparities and improve access to care for underserved populations.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2-5 years experience in community relations.
- Experience in staffing, budget and project management.
COMPETENCIES:
- Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Relationship management experience preferred.
