AKFCS is hiring for a Football Assistant Coach for the Fall 2025 season. This person is responsible for organizing tryouts, holding practice sessions, and supervising students before, during and after game activities. This person is responsible for adhering to all rules of the MIAA and AKF student handbook. This person is responsible for communicating on an on-going basis with the administration and the athletic director and/or assistant athletic director regarding all activities associated with students participating in this team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

• Adheres to all rules of MIAA

• Adheres to all rules of AKF student handbook regarding athletics.

• Ensures that all athletes have a current medical physical prior to tryouts for this sport.

• Organizes tryouts and instructs student athletes on the fundamentals of this team sport.

• Holds practice sessions where athletes perform drills that help improve their skills, stamina, and techniques.

• Instills teamwork, a competitive spirit and good sportsmanship among all team members.

• Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies and materials including uniforms and first aid kit.

• Familiar with rules of sport and teaches those to all team members.

• Works closely with Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director regarding all aspects of the team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience as a player and/or coach in the specific sport

• Employee of Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School

COMPENSATION:

As compensation for performance of the above outlined duties, an annual stipend in the amount of $3,200.00 will be paid upon completion of the sport season.
