Position Overview:
The Service Unit Department Manager RN will oversee a large or multiple units providing ambulatory services in Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging. This leadership position ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused care compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. You will play a pivotal role in clinical practice standards, staff development, and operational excellence.

Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $180,000 to $210,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage operations to ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish and maintain care standards.
• Act as a patient advocate, addressing and resolving patient care issues.
• Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care outcomes.
• Develop, monitor, and optimize budgets and resource allocation.
• Determine appropriate staff mix and oversee hiring, training, and competency development.
• Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, safety, and risk management issues.
• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
• Work closely with Physician Team Leader and Department Chief on daily operations and service levels.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles.
• Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related health field (or four additional years of directly related experience).
• Active California Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging.
• Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or a related field.
• Experience managing staff with extended roles (RNs, NPs, RTs, etc.).
• Experience managing multiple locations or large, complex projects.
• Familiarity with managing in a labor/management partnership environment.
• Knowledge of PALS, PEARS, or ACLS certifications (specific to certain departments).
