Nocturnist APP at Columbus Regional Health – Columbus, Indiana

The Hospitalist team at Columbus Regional Health, a member of Cleveland Clinic Connected, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our established hospitalist program as a nocturnist team member. The current team is composed of 2 Physicians and 2 APPs that have been with the group for 3-10 years. This position has been created to add extra support for high volume nights and to have automatic coverage for PTO usage. About Our Program:

• Working with a Cleveland Clinic Connected member (https://www.crh.org/about-us/cleveland-clinic-connected)
• 20+ provider hospitalist group serving medical-surgical floors and step-down unit
• Daytime coverage: 7 physicians, 1 APP
• Dedicated swing shift (11a-11p) for admissions
• Currently nights are staffed by two established nocturnist teams (APP/physician pairs) working
• 7on/7off with a swing shift assisting with admissions until 9:30pm
• Average census: 85
• Average number of admissions per provider per night: 6
• Closed ICU model

Position Details:

• 7 shifts per 2-week period (7p-7a)
• Nocturnist Team is made up of Physician and APP(s)
• Primary responsibilities:
  • Rotating admissions with physician until 5am with assistance from the Swing shift
  • Cross Coverage of Medical and Step Down units divided among nocturnist team
  • Working independently within a collaborative team structure

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in hospital medicine preferred but also accepting candidates with less experience that are motivated to work with mentor
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Flexibility with scheduling
• Team-oriented mindset
• Independent decision-making abilities
• Interest in long-term commitment
